Cervical Myelopathy 2 Case Study

Elderly lady presents with difficulty using her hands. She cannot button her shirt and when she walks she feels like she is going to fall. Her MRI shows spinal cord compression (myelopathy). A side view shows the narrowing of the spinal canal. The cross section (middle picture) show the spinal cord compressed compared to a normal cross section (right).

She undergoes a posterior laminectomy and fusion. Left is an xray. Middle shows the canal much more open on a side view. The right shows a cross section with opening of the spinal canal.
